South African Wines Hand-poured Tasting

Regulars to Savannah Wine Cellar will hear us talk a lot about wine being an expression of its place.
 Every major wine growing region has elements of its terroir that creates a unique expression of different grape varieties. And among the world’s vineyards, those from South Africa produce grapes that genuinely convey character of place.
Chenin Blanc ranges throughout the Old World – but carries its own unique traits when grown in South Africa. The region’s Cabernet Sauvignon is certainly enjoyable – without mimicking its Napa Valley cousin. Bordeaux-inspired Meritage blends and earthy Pinotage gives fans of big red wines an experience that is as resplendent with complexity as their French counterparts.
You can experience a taste of South Africa at Saturday’s hand-poured tasting – a journey through two white wines and four red wines.
No passport required.
